Radial keratotomy was invented in 1973, then the only means of surgically repairing refractive errors. Advances in medical technology and the development
There are many successful cases of both PRK and LASIK mathematical operation. In many cases individuals who have undergone the procedure have their accurate vision restored and never again need to wear any run of corrective lenses. LASIK has eclipsed the popularity of other procedures like radial keratotomy and PRK because of its advantageous aspects in comparison. It is a relatively painless operation, recovery is quick, vision is restored quickly, and a second operation within the first year is a simple procedure when fine tuning is required. LASIK surgery has boasted hundreds of thousands of successes. somewhat people see well enough to operate a motor vehicle just a day afterwards having the procedure performed. For eye surgeons the procedure is also much more than advantageous than previous methods of refractive surgery. As Boodman (1999) explains:

Leaser eye surgery: Is it worth looking into? FDA Consumer, 32, Viewed on Oct. 6, 2003: hypertext transfer protocol://www.elibrary.com, 1-9.
There are two main forms of laser eye surgery. The first is cognize as photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and the other is known as laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK). PRK is a less complex procedure than LASIK because it does not require the surgeon to use a scalpel and is primarily performed by the reckoner controlled laser. PRK and LASIK are both outpatient procedures. The PRK procedure "gently reshapes the cornea by removing microscopical amounts of tissue from the outer surface with a cool, computer-controlled ultraviolet communicate of light" (Lewis 1998, 1). The laser beam is amazingly precise with an ability to cut notches in a strand of human haircloth without breaking it. It is a finely tuned instrument much more precise than the most skillful surgeon's hand. Each pulse of the laser can remove 39 millionths of an inch of tissue in 12 billionths of a second, (Lewis 1998, 2).
