The multi-store model was created in 1668 by Atkinson and Shiffrin. The model proposes that memory consists of the following stores: a sensory store, a short- confines store and a considerable consideration-store.

Furthermore the multi-store model is oversimplified it assumes that there is only hotshot short term store and one long term store however there has been evidence that disproves this; suggesting that there are several different short-term stores, and different long term stores.
