Personality Theory
The means in which an individual develops their personality depends on the values compel by the family and the culture they ar raised in. The family of an individual is the unproblematic agent of socialization. Family plays an important role in shaping the feeling and behavior of an individual indoors the society. The importance of an interpersonal dealings between p arents and child and the childs development is reflected in their functioning within society and how they interact with others. Family helps m senescent an individual and their personality. The family values, beliefs, religious gustatory modality and political views form an individuals outlook towards society. Parents are the most influential in the social development of children. Therefore, Erikson believed that childishness is significant in personality development.
Our personality development is a social product from the moment we are born. Everyone tends to think of themselves as optimistic or pessimistic, independent or dependent, emotional or unemotional, adventurous or cautious, leader or follower, aggressive or passive.
The majority of these are inborn temperament traits, but other characteristics, such as feeling either competent or inferior, appear to be learned, based on the challenges and support we become as we develop.
Erikson formulated eight stages of psychosocial development that focused on a specific developmental task of to each one phase. Commonly, the breeding cycle is divided into eight developmental stages the details of each of which are going to be discussed in the body of this essay.
