The Pangolin is a poem about an animal that is not very well known, one that the poet, Marianne Moore, has an affinity for. She finds admirable characteristics in this wild creature that others might find ugly or foolish. There was, of course, a reason why she so often used animals in her poetry, and a special reason why she chose the pangolin for this poem.
